Collection of the Interlaken Tourism Museum

Are you looking for photos, brochures, posters, or written information on the history of tourism? We may have what you’re looking for in our collection or our media library. We charge a fee for the time and effort involved in making materials available for viewing, according to our rate schedule:

A4 scans	CHF 20.00/each
A3 scans	CHF 30.00/each
Photographic reproductions	starting at CHF 120.00/each

In our archive, you will find:

over 3,000 book titles in the genres of tourism, history, and folk culture

H. Steinhauer Interlaken Photo Archive (approx. 1930–1960)

over 1,000 postcards and picture postcards from the Bernese Oberland

Tourism posters

Digital information on a wide variety of topics (past temporary exhibitions)

Document archive of the former Kunstanstalt Brügger A. G. Meiringen (over 2,000 brochures from hotels, tourist bureaus, railroads, etc.)

Promotional films from the former Bernese Oberland Tourist Bureau (VBO)

Important:

The documents can only be viewed in the Tourism Museum’s reading room. They are not available for checkout. A written request/advance registration including personal information (full address with phone number, email, age, institution [educational institutions, etc.], and details regarding the purpose of your research) is absolutely required!
